Kenneth L Hall Jr.

Kenneth L Hall Jr, age 82, died at home May 14, 2025. Kenney was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico. When he was three months old, he and his parents, Kenneth L Hall Sr and Margaret Jewel McClendon Hall; and sister, Geraldine moved to the south valley in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

He was an energetic, inquisitive boy looking forward to a new adventure every day. He wanted to earn money for extras like a cowboy hat and Roy Rogers six-shooters, so he sold packets of seeds, doughnuts, and Cashmere soap door to door. He bought traps and trapped muskrats for their fur along the ditch banks. When he was older, he sold the Albuquerque Journal on the sidewalk of Central and 4th Street. He worked for the owners of the movie theaters on Central and even carried a flashlight to direct patrons to their seats at the State, Sunshine, and Kimo Theaters.

He started school at Old Armijo Elementary, moved on to the Ernie Pyle Junior High, and graduated from Old Albuquerque High School in 1960. Then, he enlisted in the Navy. He spent over two years in Cuba as an aircraft mechanic. He has lots of stories about these interesting times. He was scheduled to be discharged the 22nd day of November 1963 but with President Kennedy's death everything was halted a few days.

When he returned home to Albuquerque, he thought he was foot-loose, but his father made him sign up for employment. The next day he was called to work for Chant Corp, as a shop-boy. He stayed on with Chant for twenty years earning his electrical journeyman license after four years of apprenticeship with International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local 611, worked on to become a Foreman and sometimes a supervisor.

He married a local girl, and had two boys and a girl. He looked forward to the weekends when he could take his kids water skiing, or ride dirt bikes, go camping and hunting. His life with his three children was filled with his love for them. He built a home on a hill in the south valley, with some help from his friends like Larry White and Ross Jones, and other contractors.

He became a mason with Mesa Lodge No 68. He formed his own company, H and H Services, Inc and the first Mr. Electric in New Mexico, working out of his barn at first.

After his divorce he met a real soul mate, Carolyn. After five years of courting, they were married in Honolulu, Hawaii. Carolyn talked Kenney into letting her work for him in his company, things worked out well. He hired his two sons and Carolyn's two sons. Things were good. Kenney and Carolyn had many adventures like traveling, fishing, and even taking their children and grandchildren along when they would go.

Kenney woke up every day with enthusiasm to do the chores, started new projects, and entertain. He always had a great sense of humor, enjoyed kidding and joking, taking life seriously was always a second thought. Kenney read the sale items in the newspaper every day and decided he and Carolyn needed a houseboat, in all they eventually had three different houseboats and a sailboat. They bought racehorses, he earned a trainer's license, and they followed the circuit pulling and living in their motorhome. Horse racing was exciting and adventuresome but eventually was entirely too much work. A friend gave them a retired racehorse, which they had bred, and a beautiful filly came from this. To sum up Kenney's life is impossible, he enjoyed life so much, was so extatically busy all of the time, and loved his family and extended family to the fullest.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Geraldine Vick, his stepdaughter Debbie Warrick Campagnola, his grandsons RC Warrick and Colton Hall. He is survived by his loving wife Carolyn, his children Damon (Vickie) Hall, Kenney Hall, and Laurie Hall. His stepchildren Barbara (Skip) Metcalf, Rob (Melissa) Warrick, and Johnny (Alanna) Buffalow. He leaves behind twenty grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at Daniels Family Funeral Services-Carlisle Chapel located on 3113 Carlisle NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87110 on May 31, 2025, at 10:00 AM, followed by a reception at 11:00 am, then burial at Sunset Memorial Park at 1:00 pm.
