Kenneth L. Hall, tragically died riding his beloved Harley Davidson. He was 59 years old.
Kenny was born at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ, on April 26, 1965. His parents are his father, the late Thomas A. Hall Sr. and his mother who survives him, Mary Lou (Ferraro) Hall. He grew up in Berkeley Heights and called a few other towns home before moving to Warren Twp. 20 years ago.
His childhood antics included lots of outside time: riding dirt bikes, playing ball and terrorizing the neighborhood. His teenage years were spent bulking up his body and working out every day. Which led him to enter power lifting contests and win a few trophies. He defied death 1000 times over doing nonstop stupid things. Kenny was the epitome of good hearted: wise, determined, fair, loving, helpful, generous, funny and STRONG. He would win you over come Hell or high water and was always the life of the party. He led with his heart and brought a party into every room he entered times a million. The stories he told were the core of his being.
He worked in the family business for 47 years and was Vice President of T.A. Hall's Home and Garden Center & Florist in Berkeley Heights. He was a respected business leader who went out of his way to help every customer leave his business happy and satisfied. He was a generous man and would always strive to make you want to do business at Hall's. He was unquestionably a moral, ethical human being.
He started working in the family business as a teen and learned a strong work ethic. Kenny was loyal to the core. There was no one he would not do a favor for or go out of his way for. There were numerous days and nights that he would come home late because he was helping a stranger change a flat tire, giving a needy person a ride home, driving an injured raptor to the vet, the list is endless.
No matter where in the world he travelled there was always at least one person he would know. The relationships that he built, and the threads of friendship were everywhere. So many people describe him as being "Bigger than Life." No truer words can encompass the personality and strength, sense of humor and patriotism. No conversation was ever had with him that did not include a raunchy joke or off-color comment, usually "too soon."
In 1984, he met and fell in love with his best friend that became his wife. They embraced having a family and built a perfect life raising their three most precious children. It was such an honor that those kids met such perfect partners that were also considered their children.
Besides his strong dedication to his family and his country, he was proud to be an Honorary Silver Life member of PBA Local 144 and the Warren Honorary PBA, have completed the Tough Mudder and become a member of the Somerville Elks. One of his last gifts was the opportunity to give to the Sharing Network and become a bone, tissue and eye donor.
He is survived by his loving wife Holly (Potter) Hall, his mother Mary Lou Hall, his children Patrick Hall and his wife Cyndy, Elizabeth Scherr and her husband Zachary, Jacqueline Hall and her boyfriend Reed, his brother Thomas A. Hall, Jr. and his wife Ann Marie, and his sister Allison LaHoff and her husband Robert. He is also survived by his three (fill in the blank with every loving, adoring word possible) grandchildren Lily, Colin and a very special newborn Alice born on October 10, 2024. He was loved by and shared his love with his nieces and nephews: Katie and her husband Dom, Samantha and her husband Rob, James, Donovan, Brian, Kelly, Bridget, Matthew and Olivia.
All will miss his immeasurable personality. One of his requests to me was to let you know that I am now available and my phone number is xxx.xxx.xxxx.
A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held on October 17, 2024, gathering at 11:00 AM at the Embassy Suites by Marriott Berkeley Heights 250 Connell Drive, Berkeley Heights, NJ. All are invited to share memories in an open mic format or in a guest book. The family will love to hear your stories of Kenny's antics.
In Lieu of Flowers please make contributions to a Veteran Organization of your choice, The Sharing Network or your local animal shelter.
His remains will be kept with his immediate family. Our doors will always be open for your visit.

My family had been a customer of Hall´s since 2002 and my father was a customer from the 1970s to about 2002. We bought one of their large Christmas trees and enjoyed the annual event of having Kenny and the team deliver it. The tree took 20 minutes. The stories lasted another half hour. Kenny was so sincere, energetic, and fun to be with. I have heard so many stories about his children I feel like I watched them grow up in a way. It is a terrible and tragic loss to have him taken away from you like this. But I know eventually you will recover. I know this because you are Kenny´s family. He showed you what you need to work through this.
