Peter Clinton Strang

Peter Clinton Strang died on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, New Jersey, with his family by his side. He was 74.

Peter was born in Manhattan, NY on July 26, 1951, a son of the late Virginia (Mills) and Clinton Wright Strang II. He was raised in Brooklyn, NY, and later moved to Basking Ridge, New Jersey before settling in Stirling, New Jersey in 1975.

He graduated from Ridge High School, Class of 1969. Peter was a career truck driver, working for various companies, Standard Roofing and his own trucking business, Strang & Sons Inc. founded in 1992. He later worked as a truck driver for V.A. Spatz in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey, retiring in 2017.

Peter enjoyed boating and saltwater fishing and cherished his time at his home in Little Egg Harbor Township (Mystic Island), New Jersey, where he loved crabbing and socializing with his friends and family. As a young man, he enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He was an avid reader, loved working in the yard and was a proud member of the Stirling and Warren American Legion posts. He was known by friends and family for his annual St. Patrick's Day dinners, sausage and pepper sandwiches and beef barley soup. Peter also enjoyed an occasional ice-cold beer.

Peter is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Mary Jane (Kmiecinski) Strang; his two sons, Thaddeus M. Strang and Jeremy P. Strang and his significant other, Ondrea Corsie; his daughter-in-law, Danielle Strang; his sister, Patricia Personius; and his two adored grandchildren, Jackson D. and Kennedy J. Strang. He was pre-deceased by his sister, Priscilla Bishop.

A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 4:00–7:00 PM at Valley Memorial Funeral Home, 1012 Valley Road, Gillette, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at St. Mary's Stony Hill RC Church, 225 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ. Disposition was private.
