Jay Sleifer Obituary
March 19, 2026.
Born in Long Branch, he was raised in Asbury Park before settling in Ocean Township in 1965. Jay
graduated from Seton Hall University in 1956 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army as an E-4 Specialist.
Jay built a long and successful career in purchasing with Western Electric/AT&T, beginning in
Manhattan and concluding in Morristown, New Jersey.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Jay was known for his warm presence and
steady nature. He was an avid golfer and had a special fondness for his cats, Missy and
Handsome.
He was predeceased by his parents, Jay B Sleifer, Sr. and Charlotte Sleifer, and by his beloved
wife, Dorothy, in 2019.
Jay is survived by his children: Michael and his wife Donna; Mark and his wife Christine; and
Jay and his wife Cherilynn. He also leaves behind six cherished grandchildren: Alexander
Sleifer (Kelsey), Erica Sleifer (Jencen), Jeremy Sleifer (Tyler), Travis Dean, Kate Perez (Ron),
and Samantha Kleniewski (Kyle).
Services will be private and are entrusted to the Fiore-Buckley Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth
