Following a courageous and hard-fought battle with multiple health issues, Kenneth "Ken" Harrington, age 75, of
Delaware, Ohio was called home on Monday, March 2, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Ken was born in Floyd County, Kentucky, on September 26, 1950, to the late Oliver Harrington and Esther (Warrens) Harrington.
Ken graduated from Huntington Highschool in Chillicothe, Ohio in the 1968 class. Following graduation, Ken married the love of his life Katherine "Kate" (Regan) Harrington on March 8, 1969. The two enjoyed nearly 58 years of marriage together.
Ken worked in retail management for 35 years. In those 35 years, Ken primarily worked with tools and hardline products. In securing tools and other products, Ken was able to travel the world. His work brought him to Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, mainland China, and many other destinations.
After retiring from his work within the retail space, Ken discovered a new passion in home inspections. What began as a hobby ended up becoming an entirely new career. Ken was not a man who could do something half-way, he always put in 100%. Ken was an incredible home inspector, who fought for the rights and protections of consumers. Ken helped to pass a law in the State of Ohio, making it mandatory for home inspectors to be licensed. Ken was also the Executive Director of the Ohio Chapter of ASHI (The American Society of Home Inspectors) for 10 years, up until Ken's passing.
Outside of work, Ken enjoyed classic cars (especially his Corvette), travelling, reading, and watching the Ohio State Buckeyes Football Team. He spent much of his free time helping others, always extending a hand to anyone that he knew was in need. Most of all, Ken spent his time with a smile on his face. His smile was a gift that he shared with everyone, and with it he brightened the lives of everyone around him.
Ken was an adventurous and outgoing man with a heart of gold, who loved his family dearly. He will be forever missed.
In addition to his parents, Ken is preceded in death by his brothers Dwayne Harrington and William "Bill" B Harrington.
Kenneth "Ken" Harrington is survived by his loving wife Katherine (Regan) Harrington; son Kyle Harrington; bonus son Brian Hinchliffe; brother Steve (Carolyn) Harrington; sister Janette Detty; sister-in-law Ima Jean; grandchildren Jacob Oliver Harrington, Lilyanne Ester Harrington, and Elizabeth Paige Gibbs; 2 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial calling hours will be held at Snyder Rodman Funeral Center on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 11 am - 1 pm. A funeral ceremony will be held at Snyder Rodman Funeral Center on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 1 pm. A graveside ceremony will follow.
