WEST BOYLSTON- Kenneth J. Hergert, 63, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2025, at his home, after an illness.
He leaves his children, Daniel Hergert and his wife, Madison of Ladson, SC and Dr. Sarah Hergert and her husband, Brendan Iler of Dallas; his granddaughter, Ava H. Iler; three siblings, Donald Hergert of Fort Myers, FL; Mary Sempa and her husband, Francis of Harrisburg, PA; Patty Malloy of Yardley, PA; nieces and nephews and his former wife Kim Hergert who shared with him a lifetime of memories.
He was born in Seattle, WA son of Donald R. and Gail M. (Abrams) Hergert and graduated from Morrisville Central High School and Siena College where he played football. Ken was a property manager and real estate broker at Salisbury Management Company, prior to that he sold advertising and owned his own real estate company, Home Buyers Realty.
While his life was unfairly shortened, Ken truly lived in the time he had. He was an avid golfer; there was nothing he enjoyed more than getting out on the course and spending time with those close to him. He loved watching Boston sports teams and going to games, as well as playing on his winter league basketball team. His family and friends were everything to him, and he could always be counted on for a good time and a beer. He surrounded himself with loved ones and remained connected to the people who mattered most — from childhood friends to those met later in life. His loyalty, warmth, and humor reflected in his friendships and the compassion and care his entire community showed him in his final years. One of the greatest joys of Ken’s life was his granddaughter, Ava. Their bond was filled with laughter, love, and delight —they truly adored one another. He was profoundly grateful for the time they shared, and their special connection will live on through her and his memory. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
