WEST BOYLSTON: John P. “Jack” Carlson, 85, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. His wife of 45 years, Nancy E. (Maylott) Carlson, passed away in 2009.
He is survived by two sons, Mark of Vermont and Michael of Worcester; a brother David Carlson and his wife, Judith of Little River, SC; and a grand-daughter Kaylei.
Jack was born in Worcester, son of the late Hilding & Anne (Doherty) Hilding. He was raised in West Boylston and graduated from West Boylston High School. He also had a master’s degree in education. Jack proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was stationed on the USS Macon.
Jack and Nancy owned a summer home on Cranberry Meadow Lake in Spencer where he enjoyed racing sailboats, and motor boating.
Funeral services with burial, in Mount Vernon Cemetery will be held privately.
Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 1 W. Boylston St., is assisting the family.
