Linda Kaye Carlson

Linda Kaye Carlson, 58, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2026 in Boise, Idaho. She was born on August 29, 1967 in Downey, California. When she was three days old she was adopted by Jay Kenneth and Betty Jean Carlson and grew up in Blackfoot, Idaho. She was a ball of energy and fun to be around from the very beginning. As she grew she found her first job at a grocery store as a grocery bagger which suited her friendly personality as she was able to interact with shoppers. While in high school she competed in the Junior Miss pageant and had a fun time with the interactions and connections that experience held. She graduated from Blackfoot High School and went to Cosmetology school at Idaho State University College of Technology Salon Services in Pocatello, Idaho where she excelled in her field.

In 1986, she welcomed her daughter, Ashley and a few years later moved to Beaverton, Oregon where she continued to find success as a cosmetologist there. She had a large clientele that kept her schedule booked months in advance. While in Beaverton she met the love of her life, Bobby Mackall, Sr. and they married in 2002. Linda loved culture and spent time learning about different cultures of the world. For many years she participated in Hawaiian Hula performances and was part of a Hawaiian dance and cultural group. She was also a volunteer with cat rescue groups for several years which resulted in a few cats joining the family.

In 2015, Bobby and Linda moved to Mexico for several years where she was able to share her talents with many there. She not only impacted the local people living there with her specialty of work but also was a very talented artist. She was able to create many beautiful crafts and flower arrangements as well as her paintings that will be treasured. Outside of painting, she also enjoyed cooking and gardening, making her home and yard a piece of art. She also had a love of animals and cared for many cats, dogs, fish and birds.

In 2019, they moved back to the United States and spent time in Idaho and Oregon close to family. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her husband, Bobby. She cared for everyone around her, wanting to help in any way she could.

She is survived by her husband Bobby; daughter Ashley Kersey (Michael Frazier); father Jay Kenneth Carlson; sister Beth Stimpson (Marshall); stepsons Bobby Mackall Jr. and Brandon Mackall; and three grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother, Betty and her brother, Kelvin Carlson. A memorial will be held in the summer. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and everyone whose life she touched.
