Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel - WorcesterIt is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Robert Polselli, 79, of West Boylston.
Born November 27, 1946, in Worcester, he was the son of the late Alfonso and Josephine (Rano) Polselli.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Barbara (Arnieri) Polselli; his loving children, Nicole Guelcher and her husband Stephen, of Shrewsbury, and Marco Polselli of Las Vegas, NV; his adored grandchildren, Will, Dylan, and Owen Guelcher; and his sisters-in-law Carol Polselli, Sandra Polselli, and Dorothy Arnieri; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his siblings Dorothy Vegnone and her husband Frank, Richard Polselli, Anna McCarthy and her husband Chet, and Alfonso Polselli.
Bob graduated from North High School in 1964 and attended Suffolk University. He was a member of the Massachusetts National Guard. Bob’s long and successful career included small business ownership, sales, and financial advising.
Renowned for his warm smile, and open, welcoming nature, Bob cherished nothing in life more than his family. He married his high school sweetheart and felt most content when she was by his side; this remained evident to all even when his Alzheimer’s disease had reached its final stages. He took joy in seeing his children happy, always looking for ways to make them laugh. To show his love and support for his grandsons, Bob would drive anywhere, play any game countless times, and cheer them on in any weather. Bob also loved cooking and eating good food, playing cards with Al and Billy, Februarys in Siesta Key, and his grandsons’ dog, Lucy.
Calling hours for Bob will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.
Friends and family are invited to gather at Arturo’s Restaurant, 54 E Main St, Westborough, at 2:00 p.m.
In accordance with Bob’s wishes, his body has been donated to the Anatomical Gift Program for the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University for medical education and research.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association. Donate Today
