Kenneth Hodson Obituary

Kenneth C. Hodson Kenneth C. Hodson, known affectionately by most as "Kenny Bob," entered Heaven on September 13, 2023, at the age of 74, after a brief illness and hospitalization surrounded by his wife and children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Mary Ruth Hodson, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bob and Jane Cannon.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sandy Cannon Hodson; his daughter, Kari Hodson Cook, her husband Wes, and their daughters, Lila and Stella; his son, Matthew "Ace" Hodson, his wife, Kadena, and their son, Aiden; his older brother, Steve Hodson, his wife Alicia, and their children, Bethany Hodson Pope and Chad Hodson, and their families; and his younger brother, Brad Hodson and his wife Shelly.

Kenny was born on August 30, 1949, and spent his childhood through early teens in Alcoa before his family moved to Maryville. He graduated from Maryville High School in 1967 where he played on the undefeated 1964 Rebel football team. After graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force Air National Guard and served from 1967 until 1973. He spent the majority of his working career as lineman and installer for Bell South until his retirement at 48 years old. After retirement, because he loved to stay busy, Kenny began a new career as a building contractor during which time he also served as a Judicial Magistrate then a courtroom clerk for the Circuit Court of Blount County.

In his free time, Kenny loved being outdoors either fishing or hunting, but his favorite pastime was spending time with family and friends whom he loved to entertain with stories that always had an element of truth but were continuously embellished for effect. Everyone who knew him has heard his stories and will also attest to the fact that he never met a stranger. His generosity was immense, and his enjoyment of life was to be admired and emulated.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, from 4:00 until 6:00 PM followed immediately by a Celebration of Life service at First United Methodist Church Maryville on Montvale Station Road. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Tennessee Wildlife Resources Foundation, 5000 Linbar Drive, Suite 275, Nashville, TN 37211.
