It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Kenneth Dean Hubbard, age 94, who departed this life on July 29, 2025. Born on September 9, 1930, in Lebanon, Virginia, he lived a life dedicated to service and family.
Kenneth proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps, embodying the values of honor, courage, and commitment throughout his life. He later became a skilled pipe fitter for Local 602, where he gained the respect and admiration of his peers for his work ethic and dedication.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Kenneth was known for his kind heart and infectious sense of humor. He cherished his role as a grandfather, affectionately known as "Papaw" to his beloved grandchildren, instilling in them the virtues of laughter and compassion.
Kenneth was married to Helen Murphy Hubbard, and together they built a loving family. He is survived by his wife, Helen; his stepchildren: John Murphy and his wife Sharon, Patricia Emmons, Michael Murphy, and Diana McColgan and her husband Patrick. He also leaves behind his beloved brother, Winston Jackson, and his wife Ramona, and sister, Velma Dofflemyer, and numerous nieces and nephews. Kenneth was predeceased by his son, Robert E. Hubbard, as well as one brother and three sisters.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Kenneth on August 18, 2025, at Advent Funeral & Cremations Services, located at 7211 U.S. 29, Falls Church, VA 22046, from 1 PM to 5 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Goodwin Living Foundation Hospice Fund, 4800 Fillmore Ave, Alexandria, VA 22311, in honor of his legacy of love and kindness.
Kenneth's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and he will be deeply missed by all.
