Kenneth Hulsey

1940 - 2025

Kenneth Ralph Hulsey passed from this life on October 7, 2025, at the age of 85. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Diane C. Hulsey, his half-brother Don C. Hulsey, and his parents, Ralph C. and Billie M. Hulsey. He is survived by his sons Todd (Tammy) and Chriss (Shelley), his sister JoAnn Cohen of Memphis, Tennessee, his great friend JoAnn Butler of Arlington, four grandchildren and step-grandchildren, three great grandsons, and many nieces and nephews. Born at St. Paul's Hospital in Dallas, he was a lifelong, 85 year resident of Grand Prairie. He was a member of Grand Prairie High School Class of 1958. Self-employed most of his life, Kenny was a skilled carpenter, furniture and cabinet maker, industrial painter, small engine mechanic, auto-body man, welder, and businessman. With his father he co-owned Hulsey Manufacturing Company in Grand Prairie, and later he owned Hulsey Lawn & Garden, also in Grand Prairie. As a teenager, Kenny was a competitive water skier. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. A long-time member of the Grand Prairie Gun Club, he was an accomplished skeet and trap shooter. In his younger days, he was a successful competitive bowler, nearly making the PBA Tour. And there was golf. Kenny loved golf! He will be missed by his family and his many friends. Arrangements are being handled by Chism-Smith Funeral Home in Irving. The memorial service will be held at 1st United Methodist Church of Grand Prairie, with interment following at Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens.
