Kenneth Kapp Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kramer Family Funeral & Cremation Center on Feb. 19, 2026.
I know this is unusual but . . . here is my selfie-obituary
(to prove it's me, I just went and looked in the mirror . . .and it is me alright!)
I am Kenneth J Kapp (Kenny), and I left this world to reunite with my parents, grandparents, daughter, and sister as well as Becky's ancestors and many others who have also departed this world. I was born on November 10, 1954 and died on February 16, 2026, at the age of 71 due to complications with . . . well, with living.
I had 3 daughters, Wendy Yamasaki (deceased), Heidi (Jerry) Clark, Kamra Bost, 1 son, Jacob (Kendra) Kapp and 3 stepdaughters (whom I claim and love like my own), Megan Gonzalez, Brooke (Todd) Worthington and Lindsay (Corey) Allen. From all of these children I was blessed to have 17 grandchildren and 14 1/2 great-grandchildren.
I served in the U.S. Army Field Artillery Fire Direction Center (FDC) specialty from Feb. 1973 - Aug. 1976 I was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the Expert Badge (Rifle M-16). I also served with the Utah National Guard for an additional 5 ½ years where I attained the rank of Staff Sergeant.
I had a ball being Santa at Christmas time for about 5 years. I especially enjoyed my two years at the Layton Hills Mall. I really loved interacting with the kids who were so excited for Christmas. I ended every night exhausted but with a big smile on my face.
I also loved playing music with the country band I played in for 25+ years, Steep Canyon Band. They are some cherished memories.
My hobbies include genealogy (for my own family or helping others), I loved our weekly Come Follow Me gospel study lessons with Becky, her brothers and their wives. We have been doing it for over 5 years now on Thursday nights via zoom.
I served an 18 month (part-time) Family History Mission in SLC, Utah and a two-year mission to Tonga with Becky for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have a deep abiding testimony and love for my Savior, Jesus Christ. I always loved studying and talking about the Gospel principles with anyone. I encourage everyone to come unto Christ for all things truly testify of Him.
I married my eternal sweetheart Becky, on November 25, 1994, in Brigham City, Utah, and we were later sealed in the San Diego Temple. What a blessing she has been in my life. I pray that God will bless her and keep her safe until we meet again. Becky is the love of my eternal life, and I will count the days until we are reunited.
I tried to be a good man throughout my life, and I was taught at an early age to forgive others. I hope that near the top of your list of things you will remember me by is that I have a testimony of the gospel but I think I will be mostly remembered for my off-kilter (and might I add hilarious) sense of humor.
I have had a great life, for which I thank God. I pray that you will find peace in knowing I am at peace and looking forward to what comes next in my eternal progression.
Remember, agency isn't simply the right to choose, it is the God given gift to choose the right.
(This part is from his family) Plans are being made for a celebration of life that will be held for him in the near future where friends and family will enjoy hearing from his band, Steep Canyon. There will be lots of laughter and tears. He will be missed by all of us - What an amazing human being!
