Kenneth "Ken" Leon Hed

Kenneth (Ken) Leon Hed, formally from Mankato, MN passed away on April 22, 2025 after a five-year battle with Parkinsons and Lewy Body Dementia.

Ken was born in Gaylord, MN to Roland and Rose (Mielke) Hed on February 23, 1949. Ken graduated from Mankato High School, Mankato MN in 1967. After serving two years in the US Army Ken returned to Mankato and received his accounting degree from Mankato Area Vocational School and started his long career as a credit manager before retiring in 2013.

Ken married his high school sweetheart, Gloria (Gens) and they were married for 54 years. Together they enjoyed traveling, golfing, playing cards and especially spending time with family and friends.

Ken is survived by his wife, Gloria, daughter Cherie Crass, son Kevin Hed and his special friend Shanna, Granddaughter Amanda Pearl Crass (father Andy Crass), sister Barbara (Cliff) Anderson, brothers Terry (Judy) and Howard (Jennifer Martinka), brother in-law and sister in-law Dave and Mary Lee Gens, sister in-law Pamela Hed, several nieces, nephews, cousins and many lifelong friends.

Ken is preceeded in death by his parents, brother Steven, father in-law and mother in-law Vern and Pearl Gens.

Private Services will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Parkinson’s Foundation (parkinson.org).
