Kenneth Jerry King, age 74, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the Ridgeway Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Owingsville, Kentucky. He was born in Lapeer, Michigan, on November 11, 1950, to the late Jerry Mar King and the late Juanita Mae Woodward King. Kenneth proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he developed a strong sense of duty and camaraderie that he carried into his civilian life. After retiring from his position as a pug mill operator at U.S. Brick, he found fulfillment working as a forklift operator at KDMK Corporation, where his strong work ethic and cheerful demeanor made him a valued team member. Family was the cornerstone of Kenneth's life; he cherished every moment spent with them, and his conversations inevitably revolved around his loved ones. As a grandfather, he embraced his role wholeheartedly, creating lasting memories through laughter and love. In his younger days, Kenneth was an enthusiastic baseball dad, eagerly taking his kids to games and instilling in them a love for the sport. He also had a passion for fishing, often spending tranquil days by the water, where he could relax and appreciate nature. Known for his jolly personality, Kenneth had a unique ability to bring joy to those around him. His quick wit and playful sense of humor kept everyone entertained, and he never met a stranger; he effortlessly struck up conversations with anyone he encountered. His warmth and friendliness left a lasting impression on all who knew him. In addition to his parents, Kenneth is preceded in death by three brothers: Fred Woodward, Darwin King, and Ronald King. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sue Whisman King; two sons: Kenneth Ray (Cassandra) King, and Shawn (Destiny) King, both of Mt. Sterling; two daughters: Jennifer Rogers of Jeffersonville, and Nancy (Marcos) Gomez of Salt Lick; three brothers: Chuck (Paula) King of Elkmont, Alabama, Darrell (Angie) King, and Keith (Debra) King both of Lapeer, Michigan; two sisters: Bonnie (Brack) Brown of Jackson, and Terry Lovely of Prestonsburg; fourteen grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
