Kenneth D. "Butch" Larabee, 78, of Wickliffe, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at his home in Wickliffe.
He was born Aug. 14, 1946, in Cleveland.
Kenneth worked as a truck driver most of his life. He loved motorcycles, weekly bowling outings with family and traveling out of state. Kenneth raced cars and was the runner-up at World Finals at Norwalk Raceway. His favorite car to drive was the 1967 Camaro, and his favorite tracks were Dragway 42, Norwalk and Thompson Raceway. Known at the track and in his truck as "Scooby Doo", Kenneth never met a stranger. If he didn't have something to say, then Kenneth would make up a story.
He was the loving father of Kenneth R. (Amber Patterson) Larabee, Tina (Ron) Howard and Teresa (Ed) Fender; cherished grandfather of Emelia, Joshua and Eric (Brittney); great-grandfather of Madison and Harper; and brother of Richard "Tom" Larabee and Sandra Zabish.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth K. and Marie (nee Swanger) Larabee; and siblings, Janet McElwain, Darlene Faile, Pauline Morris and Kenneth Riley.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), Willoughby, with a Celebration of Life Service at 7 p.m.
Kenneth didn't like dressing up, so please wear your favorite racing or bowling shirt. Casual dress please.
