Kenneth James Leskey

With heavy hearts but joyful memories, we celebrate the life of Kenneth "Kenny" James Leskey, who passed away on March 2, 2025, in his beloved Duluth, MN at age 65. Born on February 22, 1960, Kenny was a dedicated laborer in the union and a cherished son, father, grandfather, and friend.
Kenny had a zest for life that was infectious. He was the kind of person whose big smile could light up a room! He cherished every moment spent with his family and friends, always looking for ways to make those moments special. Whether he was out kayaking on the stunning waters of Lake Superior, searching for unique yooper light rocks, or collecting driftwood on the shore, Kenny embraced the beauty of the outdoors with every adventure. His passion for capturing those moments in photographs - especially his famous selfies - will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
Kenny's pride in his home was evident; he took great care to ensure his front lawn was the best on the block. He loved to work on his house, turning it into a warm haven for his family. From traveling with family to laughter-filled gatherings, Kenny lived life to the fullest, and his spirit remains in the hearts he touched.
Kenny was preceded in death by his father, Allan; and brothers, Donny and Larry.
Kenny is survived by his loving mother, Beulah; sons, Allan and Kyle; daughters, Katy (Skyler) Murray and Ashley (Joe Himmelspach) Haakensen; girlfriend, Sandy Sipes; grandchildren, Easton, Ayden, Carter, Stella, Faith, Alyssa, Hope, and Ashlyn; and brothers, Arnie, David, and Gary. He is also survived by countless others, as he poured himself into everyone he knew and welcomed anyone and everyone with open arms. He leaves behind countless cherished memories that will be embraced by all who loved him.
Visitation to be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 20th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with Funeral Service at Noon and reception to follow. Interment at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery.
In celebrating Kenneth's life, let us remember the joy he brought to each of us, the lessons he taught us about living with passion, and the love he shared so freely. Kenny will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire all of us to find joy in life's simplest moments.
