Kenneth Lee McCandless Jr., born on Easter Sunday, April 2, 1972, in Lubbock, Texas, passed
away peacefully on the morning of November 13, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Kenneth was a devoted son, brother, father, and uncle who will be remembered for his kindness,
humor, and dedication to his loved ones.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Lee McCandless Sr., and his mother,
Cheryl Cox McCandless. He is survived by his two sons, Kenneth McCandless III and Matthew
McCandless; his beloved sisters, Leeann Branham and husband Jack, and Debbye McCandless;
his nephew Tyler Branham and wife Lauren; his niece Berkeley Hilliard and husband Zachary;
great niece Nora Branham and great nephews Tate Branham and Halden Hilliard.
Kenneth was a proud graduate of Lubbock Coronado High School and a baptized believer in
Christ. His faith guided him through life, and he longed for the day he would be reunited with his
father, a police officer who tragically passed when Kenneth was just 10 years old. That reunion
came at last, as Kenneth entered the golden gates of heaven.
He had a deep admiration for those in service roles, including police officers, firefighters, and
EMS workers-undoubtedly inspired by his father.
Kenneth loved the great outdoors, particularly in Colorado, where he found peace fishing and
enjoying nature. He also had a passion for history.
Kenneth's passing leaves a void, but his family finds comfort in the legacy he leaves behind. His
humor, kindness, and love will live on in their hearts, and his cherished memory will bring
smiles as they remember his gentle spirit.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 18th 10:00am at Agape Funeral Chapel located at
6625 19th St. in Lubbock, Texas
Gravesite to follow at 11:00am at Resthaven Cemetery.
If any wish to make a donation in Kenneth's name, contributions may be made to the American
Heart Association.
He is deeply missed and will forever be remembered with love.
