Kenneth S. Mega, affectionately known to all as Kenny, embarked on his final victory lap around the sun on October 22, 2025. Born on September 24, 1959, in the bustling city of Chicago, IL, Kenny was a true Chicagoan through and through, both in life and in his peaceful passing in the same beloved city. His journey may have ended at the age of 66, but not before he left tire marks on the hearts of those he loved and a legacy of laughter in his wake.
Kenny was a man who knew the value of hard work, dedicating over a quarter of a century as a Supervisor at UPS in Bedford/Hodgkins. But he didn't stop there-his entrepreneurial spirit led him to become the proud owner of Megamax Remodeling, wielding a hammer and a punchline with equal skill. Even cancer couldn't dull Kenny's spirit; he fought the good fight with the same tenacity he brought to every project, both personal and professional.
As a man of the Catholic Church, Kenny lived his faith through his actions, always ready with a joke to lighten your load and a helping hand to steady your ladder. His family was his pride and joy, with his beloved wife Sandra Mega at the helm of their loving home. His daughters, Lisa Caldamone (Phil), Nikki Bolda-Grabner (Jim), and Brittany Mega, will carry on his legacy of humor and compassion. Kenny's son, Michael Bolda, no doubt inherited his dad's knack for bringing joy and laughter into any room.
Generations of laughter will echo in his memory, with grandchildren Samantha, Anthony, Tristan (late), Vinny, Aubrey, and Grayson, and great-grandchildren Joey and Lucas, each having had their lives brightened by his comedic genius. Kenny's siblings, Kathy Wolbadockt (Dave) and Karen Uhler (Dennis), knew him as the uncle who could fix a sink and tickle a funny bone simultaneously, a rare and cherished combination.
Kenny's love for NASCAR was as legendary as the late Dale Earnhardt #3, whose races he never missed. His weekends revolved around Da Bears, the Chicago White Sox, and the sweet schadenfreude of watching the Cubs lose. Kenny was the life of every party, and his friends and family knew that a gathering wasn't complete without his quick wit and the sound of his laughter filling the room.
Describing Kenny is easy: handy, funny, and thoughtful. He could fix a leaky faucet with the same ease that he could craft a joke, leaving you wondering how one man could have so much talent. His thoughtfulness shone through in every action, whether he was remodeling a kitchen or making sure everyone at the table had enough to eat.
In true comedic style, Kenny would probably tell us not to be sad because he's gone, but to be grateful for the time we had with him. He'd remind us to laugh, love, and live life to the fullest, just as he did. So here's to Kenny-a man who lived, loved, and laughed in the grandest way possible. May his stories continue to bring smiles to our faces and his memory be a blessing to all who knew him. Rest in peace, Kenny. The stage of life may have dimmed with your exit, but the spotlight of your memory will shine forever bright.
