My condolences to KB's family.
Growing up in Carrollton, our parents were close friends and KB and I sang together in the TwelveTones choral group at Carrollton High School where his prodigious musical talent was already evident.
It's wonderful to know that he used that talent to such good effect in his life to the benefit of so many.
I'm so pleased to know that he had such a rich, full life surrounded by loving family and friends. May he rest in peace.

Linda and Derek, we are so sorry to hear of your loss. I met KB through the Ambassadors of Harmony, and will always remember him as a dear friend. I'll never forget the night that they announced the Ambassadors as winners of the gold medal for the first time. Two guys hugging and jumping is not a pretty sight, but it was one of the highlights of my life. Love you. Edd & Sheila Ghent

I remember KB from many years ago as my family and his family were very good friends. From the good times on the Illinois River to family get togethers it was a time I will always cherish. Rest in Peace KB.

My deepest sympathies to Linda and family. K.B. was a good friend in high school and college days, and we kept in touch over the years. We had a lot of laughs and good times together, and I will remember him for his humor, zest for life, and musical talent and accomplishments. He was a gem!

Dear Linda, Joanna, and Derek - I am so saddened to learn of your husband and father´s passing. KB became my friend and mentor as I began my first year teaching music with him in the fall of 1987 at St. Louis Country Day School. He was such a talented and terrific influence as he guided me in my very first class at CDS, 7th grade boys choir. I had so much fun accompanying the Upper School Boys glee club on piano with KB directing. He also inspired me to become a member of the pit orchestra playing keyboards for the Troubadour musicals. Some of the musicals I remember were "Grease", "Lil´ Abner", and "West Side Story" to name a few. KB´s productions were always magical and exciting! I also became a camp counselor at Camp Deerfield in the summer of 1988 with you all. I just remember how hot it was that year.
I loved sharing music with KB, and he will always be in my heart. I know that his is now singing with the angels in heaven. Peace to the entire Mehl family. Scott and Lorna Shaw
