Kenneth L. Mellott, 89, passed away January 10, 2026, at Laurel Lakes Rehab and Wellness, Chambersburg. He was born March 31, 1936, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Lloyd and Ethel Mellott.

He worked for over 30 years at Oliver Oil Co. as a truck driver. Ken was member of the Open Door Church. He was a life member of numerous organization and clubs. Ken was the President of the Chambersburg Fire Police for 31 years. Ken was an outdoor guy who enjoyed going fishing with his son and grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting, gardening and butchering. He was avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He was proud member of the Air Force as he severed his county from January 30,1956 to May 11,1959.

Kenneth is survived by his wife Donna Mellott (Corwell) of 66 years; three children: Penny L. Garber (John Jr) of Waynesboro, Glenda L. Stull of Chambersburg, and Kenneth L. Mellott Jr. (Amy) of St Thomas; seven grandchildren: Jenn Garber (Ryan), Candi Garber (Brian), John Garber III, Rosie Cleary (Earl), Heather Stull, Cole Stull (Lisa), and Ashley Mills; seventeen great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; three sisters: Martha Figure of Rodchester NY, Genevieve McDonough of Hagerstown MD, Lucinda Freeman of Chambersburg, PA; a brother, Larry Mellott of Chamberburg, PA; and numerous niece and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by five brothers: Ronald Mellott, Louis Mellott, Lyold (Bob) Mellott, James (Jim) Mellott, Donald (Smoke) Mellott and one sister Geraldine Misner.

There will be visitation at Sellers Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 6 pm-8 pm. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 1 pm with Rev. Carl McKee officiating and visitation one hour prior to the service. Online condolences may be expressed at sellersfuneralhome.com.
