Kenneth Neal Messer, age 90 of Fayetteville, passed away Friday, January 23, 2026, in Fayetteville. He was born on November 9,1935 in Galena, Kansas to the late George Earl and Jessie Mabel Howell Messer. After 21 years, Ken retired from Tyson Foods as an executive vice president. Ken was a volunteer for the Knob Hill Fire Department serving as Chief. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 57 years, Patsy Marie McCorkle Messer; great great grandson, Malakai Wolff; four siblings.
Ken is survived by his wife of thirteen years, Peggy Hains Messer; two sons, Neal Messer and his wife, Betty of Monett, Missouri and Kenny Messer and his wife, Christal of Elkins, Arkansas; daughter, Leann Wolff and her husband, Brett of Fayetteville Arkansas; brother, Donald Leon Messer of Joplin Missouri; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Alex Foster officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Sonora Cemetery. The Knob Hill Fire Department will serve as pallbearers. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home of Springdale.
