Kenneth Miller Obituary Kenneth Larry Miller, a loving family man, respected engineer, and dedicated community member, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025, in Santa Ana, California. Born on March 10, 1949, in Tucson, Arizona, Kenneth's adventurous early life in a military family saw him living in various places before he graduated from Manzano high school in Albuquerque in 1968, New Mexico. He was a strong member of the Albuquerque Air Patrol. His sense of duty led him to serve his country with distinction through two tours of Vietnam after enlisting in the US Army.
After his honorable military service, Kenneth pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. His career spanned over three decades, where he made a significant impact in the field with a focus on safety in construction especially with the US Army Corps of Engineers. Kenneth's expertise and dedication to his work left a lasting legacy in the industry.
Kenneth found the love of his life, Pauline Miller, in an unconventional way-through radio communication. Their conversations blossomed into a deep connection and they married in 1971. Together, they shared over 48 years of marriage filled with shared dreams and mutual support until Pauline's passing in 2017.
Kenneth's life was marked by his love for electronics and communication. He was an avid collector of ham radios and he cherished the opportunity to connect with fellow operators around the world. His intellectual pursuits extended to reading and research, particularly focusing on the Bible, from which he would write his interpretations and insights.
As a community-oriented individual, Kenneth was an active member of the local Lions Club and Volunteer Fire Department. His contributions to these organizations demonstrated his commitment to service and the well-being of those around him.
Kenneth was a resident of Apple Valley, California up until his passing on May 16th 2025.
Kenneth's family was his pride and joy. He is survived by his son Douglas Miller and his wife Donna, and six cherished grandchildren Desiree, Donavan, Destiny, Daylon, Delaney, Desmond.
Kenneth is also survived by:
Mindy Wright's family (Kenneth's Granddaughter) –Malinda Willis- (Derrick Willis) – and great grandchildren Charles, Brenden, Jace, and Alaura Willis
Christian Wright (Kenneth's Grandson) – and great grandchildren Naomi and Zackery (Madison) Wright and great-great grandson Weston Wright.
Steven Miller's children - Grandsons Trent Miller, Chad Miller, Zack (Katie) Miller, and great granddaughters Pru and Olivia Miller.
His legacy also lives on through his siblings: Gary, Dennis, Mark, and Tim Miller, as well as his sisters, Lisa Econie, Nancy Henry, and Patty Miller Navarro, and a host of adoring nieces and nephews. Kenneth was preceded in death by his beloved wife Pauline, his son Steven Miller, daughter Laura Miller, son in law Allen Wright, grandchildren Amanda, Urian, and Larry and his parents Kenneth Lloyd Miller and Delpha Virginia (Surrisi) Miller.
Those who knew Kenneth will remember him as a man of kindness, intelligence, and love. He was a conservative soul who relished life's simple pleasures, like savoring his morning coffee or leisurely tending to his garden, filled with lemon trees, fruit trees, and an array of plants. His grandchildren brought immense joy to his life, and he seized every opportunity to spend time with them and impart his wisdom.
Kenneth's life was a testament to his values and the things he held dear. His gentle presence and thoughtful nature will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. As Kenneth rests, we celebrate a life well-lived, a life full of purpose, and a heart full of love.
Kenneth's life will be commemorated at a church service at Calvary Church on Osuna in Albuquerque at 11:00 AM and then the burial will take place in a private ceremony on Friday, October 24th at 2:00PM in Santa Fe National Cemetery. Family and friends will gather to honor his memory and celebrate the many ways in which he enriched their lives. His passing leaves a void, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to be part of his life's journey.
