Kenneth William Moore, 70, of Houston, Texas, passed away on August 7, 2024, after a sudden and aggressive bout with cancer. Born on May 14, 1954, in Arabi, Louisiana, just outside of New Orleans, Ken was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Dorothy Moore.
Ken is survived by his wife of 47 years, Denise Moore; his daughters, Michelle Richardson and her husband, Dustin, and their sons, Logan and Dylan; and Christi Arrington and her husband, Chris, and their children, Lilly, Riley, and Calvin. He is also survived by his brother, Wayne Moore, his wife Linda, and nephew Corey Moore. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law and close friend, Tommy Joyce.
Ken graduated from O. Perry Walker High School in New Orleans and went on to earn a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette), where he met his wife, Denise. His career as an Engineer and Project Manager in the oil and gas industry took him around the world, where he specialized in developing deep-water platforms. Ken retired in 2017 after a successful and fulfilling career, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication.
Travel was one of Ken's great passions, which he shared with his family throughout his life. He and Denise took many wonderful trips together, creating cherished memories on adventures that included a family trip to Europe, cruising to Alaska, visiting Hawaii, and exploring the great outdoors on camping trips. Ken was also an avid motorcyclist, particularly fond of Harley Davidsons, and had a deep love for drag racing. His mechanical talent and passion for speed were evident in his enthusiasm for vehicles. With a kind heart and a unique ability to offer wise advice, Ken was always concerned for the well-being of those around him, a quality that endeared him to both his family and coworkers.
Above all, Ken cherished his role as a grandfather. He loved nothing more than talking about his grandchildren and spending time with them. His impact on the lives of those who knew him-whether through his work, his kindness, or his devotion to family-will be deeply felt and remembered.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 17th, at 10 a.m. at Klein Funeral Home - Champions, 16131 Champion Forest Dr, Spring, TX 77379, with family member Francis Labry officiating.
