Kenneth Nehls Obituary
October 20, 1934 - January 30, 2025
Kenneth Nehls, 90, of Hustisford-Watertown area, was a man who lived by his motto: work hard and have fun. Born on October 20, 1934, he grew up on a dairy farm, where he became known for his mischievous humor and love of a good prank. Kenny served in the U.S. Army, married his high school sweetheart, Lulu Belle (Kaul), and built a life filled with farming, family and community service. He was an active volunteer, a dedicated card player and a beloved friend to many. Later in life, he and his second wife, Merrilyn, cultivated not only crops but deep relationships, sharing their love of gardening and laughter with all who knew them.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents; siblings; and wife, Lulu Belle (Kaul) Nehls. He is survived by wife, Merrilyn (Parsons Claas); daughters, Cyndi (Nick) Clements, Rhonda (Bob) Fondell, Brenda (former spouse, Brett) Maas, Vicki (David) Lundeen; and son, Ryan (special friend, Karin) and the rest of their blended family, which includes 14 children; 28 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, February 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Friday, February 7, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church in Hustisford, with the funeral service beginning at 2:30 p.m. He will be laid to rest at Hustisford Cemetery with military honors, followed by a meal and fellowship.
