Kenneth “Ken” Lynn Oles of Spartanburg, SC passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025, at the age of 78. He was a native of Adrian, MI, born on October 24, 1946, a son of the late Willard Lynn and Opal Vera Shields Oles.
Ken was part of the United States Junior Chamber of Commerce “Jaycees” when he attended Limestone College to earn his bachelor’s degree. He worked in Textile Management for 17 years in Clinton, SC before transferring into Sales with Best Buy. Ken worked with Best Buy for 22 years, until he retired. He recently went back to work as a Print Development Coordinator with UPS in Duncan.
A member of Joy Lutheran Church for 27 years, Ken was a devoted Christian. He enjoyed collecting watches, pocket knives, and depression glass. More than anything else, Ken loved his family. They were his top priority throughout his entire life, but he was an especially proud Papa to his grandkids.
Ken is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carole Anne Hollinger Oles; daughters, Christianna Ruskin (Bobby) and Rebeccah Poteat (Eugene); and grandchildren, Noah Ruskin and Annaclare Ruskin. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Michael Oles.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at J. M. Dunbar Funeral Home, 690 Southport Rd, Roebuck, SC 29376.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00 PM on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Joy Lutheran Church, 3980 Moore Duncan Hwy, Moore, SC 29369.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Joy Lutheran Church, 2153 C-14 E. Main Street PO Box 308, Duncan, SC 29334 or to the account of Kenneth L. Oles at J. M. Dunbar Funeral Home, PO Box 6424, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
