Kenneth E. Patton, the beloved son of Danielle Y. Patton and Kenneth E. Brown, as well as Richard R. Cephas, who raised him as his own, was born on June 21, 1989, in Newark, DE. On October 30, 2024, Kenny peacefully departed this life at Christiana Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Known affectionately as "Kenny" or "KP" to everyone, and "Sonshine" by his mother, he received his early education in Newark Public Schools and later attended Concord High School. Throughout his life, Kenny worked in various warehouse positions, most recently at PSG Printing and ABS Commercial in Raleigh, NC. He was deeply passionate about art, music, and more recently, graphic design, founding Graphix by KP in 2023. Kenny was also in the process of launching his clothing line, High Class Underdogs, in 2025-a brand aimed at inspiring people to strive for greatness, regardless of their past experiences, which his sisters plan to continue in his honor.
Kenny shared an extraordinary bond with his daughter, Kennedy Milan Patton, whom he regarded as the "love of his life" and his "greatest accomplishment." Proud to be a "Girl Dad," Kenny was actively involved in Kennedy's life from the very beginning, taking part in feeding, bathing, and dressing her. He took immense pride in styling her hair, especially when he managed to create a simple ponytail. In Kennedy's eyes, her father could do no wrong, and the feeling was mutual-Kenny was all bark and no bite with his "Butt Butt," but his heart was always full of love.
Since returning to Delaware, Kenny found a relationship with God and turned his life over to Christ by joining Ezion Fair Baptist Church in
Wilmington, DE.
Kenny had an unwavering love for his family and was always the life of the party. Whether he was spending time with his family, especially with his brothers, he had the gift of making everyone laugh and enjoy themselves, and his infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was predeceased by his father, Kenneth Brown, maternal grandmother Patricia A. Patton, paternal grandmother Brenda J. Brown, maternal great-grandmother Florence (Betty) Patton, great-great-grandparents Irvin & Rita Carty, uncle Vincent (Cutty) Patton, great uncles Carlos and Tony Patton, and his cousin-brother Jahlil Patton.
Kenny is survived by his mother, Danielle Y. Patton, father Richard Cephas, and his daughter Kennedy M. Patton of Charlotte, NC.
