Kenneth Petersen Obituary
Born on March 2,1951 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He grew up in Hammonton NJ and retired to Crystal River FL.
Ken enlisted and served in the army with boots on the ground in Vietnam and Korea. Returning home, he served at Fort Dix as a counselor. He also served in the National Guard. He was a true patriot and loved his country.
Ken was a master of all trades. He spent his years as a truck driver, foundry worker, and correctional officer. He was an artist, who appreciated fine art. He, himself loved to paint and sketch. His talent was not limited to a canvas, Ken loved to express it also in his landscaping, interior decorating and culinary art. He had an expansive sock collection. He loved being out on the open road on his Harley. Ken was an avid beach goer and loved life to the fullest. Ken was a passionate giver and had a heart of love. He was known for always smiling. A real prankster at heart. You never knew what was brewing up in his head.
His greatest joy was hospitality and serving others. Using his creative talent of cooking and baking , he enjoyed making people's taste buds happy.
Ken was predeceased by his parents , Alvina Petersen (nee Quam) and Carl Petersen. His sister , Pat Lyon Lombardo, brothers: Conrad Petersen, Richard " Dick" Petersen and Jerry Lyons.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Patricia Petersen (nee Perna) his daughter, Denise Petersen and his son, Michael Petersen. His brothers : Tom Lyons and Carl Petersen; many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Crystal River Church of God in Crystal River FL on March 3,2026
10-11 am visitation
11-12 pm service
Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers family requests donations to
El Shaddai Food Pantry Crystal River Church of God.
