Kenneth "Kenny" Albert Phillips, Jr., 78, passed away on August 3, 2025 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Hartford City on June 27, 1947 to Kenneth Albert Phillips, Sr. and Patricia Joan (Tucker) Houseman. Both his parents preceded him in death.
Kenny served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1968. He married Diana Sue (Steinhilber) on September 19, 1991 in Montpelier.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting in his younger years. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and loved to ride. He spent time on CB radio with his call sign being "Big Foot."
Kenny formerly worked at Sinclair Glass in Hartford City, Indiana Glass in Dunkirk and Jennerjahn Machine in Matthews.
He was an active member of the American Legion Post #0234 and AMVETS Post #23. He was also a charter member of AMVETS motorcycle riders.
Kenny will be sadly missed by his wife, Diana Sue Phillips of Hartford City; children, Mary S. (husband, Jeff) Seymour of Maryland, Kenneth David "David" (wife, Rhonda) Phillips of Hartford City and Marie E. (husband, Casey) Ramseyer of Marion; grandchildren, Alexandra Seymour (husband, Ryan) Carroll, Adam Seymour, Curtis Smelser, Alisha (husband, Jesse) Yanez, Nicole (husband, Danny) Bailey, Amanda Phillips, Gabriel Phillips, Alexander Ramseyer and Nathaniel Ramseyer; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Connie Hill (companion, Kenny Coffman) of Albany and Teresa Capper of Hartford City; several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Mark Phillips, Nickie Hancock, Robyn Cunnington and infant Patricia Phillips.
Kenny will be cremated and a memorial service will be at 6 PM Thursday, August 14, 2025 at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St., Hartford City. Memorial visitation will be from 4 to 6 PM Thursday, August 14, 2025.
