Rusty was a member of the Nevills Chapel Baptist Church and served in the United States Army.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Barbara Phillips; son & daughter-in-law, Joe & Wendy Phillips; daughter & son-in-law, Elizabeth Phillips & Nicholas Johnson; daughter, Connie Lunsford; grandchildren, Jacob Lunsford; Eric & Erica Lunsford, Leslie Robertson, Wilson & Amanda Phillips, Ryan Phillips, Sara Phillips, Jace Phillips, Dax Adams, Lexi & Judith Johnson; great grandchildren, Kylen Lunsford, Maddie Phillips, Elliot, Ezera & Emilia Lunsford.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a great grandchild, McKenzie Grace Phillips.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Nevills Chapel Baptist Church.
