Kenneth Pinkham Obituary

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and in-law;

Kenneth D. Pinkham, Jr., age 88, of Pelham, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 29, 2025 after an extended illness.

He was the loving husband for over 66 years of Evelyn M. (Moras) Pinkham.

Born on August 5, 1937, the son of the late Kenneth D. Pinkham Sr. and the late Hilda (Neild) Pinkham, he was born in Woodsville, New Hampshire. As a boy he and his family moved to Lowell, Massachusetts, where he grew up.

As a young man Ken joined the United States Air Force, serving as an auto mechanic while stationed in multiple states and at Ben Guerir Air Force Base in North Africa.

Following his military service, Ken made his living as an auto mechanic, and was equally adept at small engine repair. He loved riding motorcycles, and for a time was the proprietor of a motorcycle shop in Pelham.

In 1959, he married his wife, the former Evelyn Moras and together, in Pelham, they raised three children to become successful adults. Throughout his life he regularly joined his wife in attending weekly mass at Pelham's St. Patrick's Church.

He was a talented and artistic woodworker, creating admirable pieces of furniture adorned with carved accents. He enjoyed spontaneous adventures with his family, even if not all that far from home. He was a member of Post 100 of the American Legion.

Although he may not ever have achieved the status associated with being called "a pillar of the community," he was a solid citizen of Pelham, New Hampshire, for almost all of his adult life, quietly taking his place among all the many others who together were truly the foundation of the community.

Besides his wife Evelyn, he is survived by his daughter, Karen Pindris and her husband Paul of Deerfield, NH; his daughter, Kathy Contraros and her husband Peter of Manchester, NH; his son, Kenneth A. Pinkham, residing in the state of Georgia; and grandchildren Timothy Contraros, James Donnelly, Brittany Contraros, and Thomas Donnelly with his wife Angela.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Friday, September 12, 2025, at ST. PATRICK CHURCH in PELHAM at 11 o'clock. Presentation of Colors by the U.S. Air Force will occur at the end of Mass. Committal Services for his family will be held at a later date. E-condolences/directions at www.pelhamfuneralhome.com. Those wishing may make contributions in his memory to the Alzheimer's Association of New Hampshire, 166 South River Rd., Bedford, NH 03110.
