It is with both heavy hearts and joyful memories that we announce the passing of Kenneth John Potavin, who departed this life on January 25, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on September 4, 1949, in Englewood, NJ, Kenneth lived a life filled with passion, purpose, and love.
He was a dedicated and successful professional, spending his entire career at Verisk Analytics (formerly ISO). He held many positions within the company ultimately serving as Regional Vice President before retiring. Kenneth made a lasting impact on his numerous colleagues and in the insurance industry.
Beyond his professional achievements, Kenneth found immense joy in his hobbies. A passionate philatelist since the age of 15, he found delight in the intricate world of stamp collecting. He enjoyed fishing, diving into the pages of a good book, piecing together jigsaw puzzles, and exploring the beauty of the world through travel. A devoted family man, Kenneth was often found cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events and celebrating their musical achievements.
Kenneth's generous spirit extended to his community, where he volunteered with Meals-On-Wheels for over a decade, earning the esteemed Volunteer of the Year Award in 2018.
In celebrating Kenneth's life, we remember not only his accomplishments but also the warmth and love he bestowed upon all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, curiosity, and an unwavering zest for life. May the compassion that defined his life inspire each of us to live fully and love deeply.
Kenneth was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Catherine (Abrams) Potavin.
Kenneth is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Potavin, two sons, Christopher Potavin and wife Michele, and Jason Potavin and wife Anna; seven cherished grandchildren, Dylan, Ashley, Jake, Luke, Corinna, Jamie, and Raelynn; two siblings, Tom Potavin and wife Susan, and Paul Potavin; a sister-in-law, Pamela Mulvehill; and several nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
To honor Kenneth's remarkable life, family and friends will gather for memorial visitation on January 30, 2026, from 6:00 PM. to 8:00 PM at the Hamilton Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 2365 Whitehorse-Mercerville Rd., Hamilton, NJ 08619.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on January 31, 2026, at 11:00 AM, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 3816 E. State St. Extension, Hamilton, NJ.
In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to Meals on Wheels of Mercer County.
