Kenneth Cecil "Ken" Pratt

Kenneth "Ken" Cecil Pratt, 78, of Pottsboro, Texas, made his way to heaven on August 5, 2025. He was born on November 2, 1946, in Haleyville, Alabama, to James Cecil and Stella (Woodard) Pratt.

Ken met his beloved wife, Jan, while working together at King Pharr Canning in Cullman, Alabama. They married on January 27, 1967, and shared a lifetime of love, adventure, and travel. Ken earned his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Tarkio College in Jefferson City, Missouri. His career as a Materials Management Specialist took him all over the world, and wherever he went, he formed lasting friendships.

Ken and Jan moved frequently throughout their life together, embracing each new place as an opportunity for growth and connection. Ken had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed golfing, hiking, and spending time at both the beach and in the mountains. Ken loved listening to music, especially Alabama & gospel, along with woodworking, taking care of his yard and he even wrote beautiful poetry.

Ken was an incredible husband who treated his wife with great care, compassion and devotion, as she was his one true love. He was a protector, teacher and understanding father to this children & loved them fiercely. His grandchildren were his pride & joy. He showed his playful and silly side with them and they all made him one very proud Pops. Ken also earned the Best Father-In-Law award as he treated and loved his daughter-in-law & son-in-law like his own.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jan Pratt of Pottsboro; his children, Jarod Pratt and wife Stephanie of Tishomingo, Oklahoma, and Haley Carey and husband Josh of Pottsboro, Texas; four grandchildren, Colton Pratt, CJ Pratt, Lundyn Carey, and Larsyn Carey; two sisters, Hilda Williams and husband Wayne of Jasper, Alabama, and Denise McCullar of Jasper, Alabama; nephews and niece, Jason, Justin, and Kasey; along with numerous cousins, extended family members, and many dear friends.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Stella Pratt, and his nephew, Hunter Cutcher.

A celebration of Ken's life will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Lakeway United Methodist Church in Pottsboro, Texas at 3pm.

In honor of Ken's generous spirit and love for others, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Alzheimer's Association.
