Kenneth Richard Reed 76, of Niles, died Thursday, February 19, 2026.
His life began September 9, 1949, in Niles Michigan, one of six children born to George and Donna Reed.
Kenneth proudly served in the United States Navy from 1967 to 1973. He was a hard worker and proud Navy sailor. He was stubborn, creative, smart, and passionate. He enjoyed woodworking; making anything and everything and building intricate Lego. Kenneth was an avid Notre Dame fan. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping, which is why he moved back to Michigan.
Kenneth will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by daughters, Tia (Brett Ellison) Reed of Niles, Kristen (Brian) Milburn of Seabrook, Texas; sons, Jeremy Reed of Jackson, Georgia, David Bierwirth of Oklahoma, Ken (Theresa) Reed of Colorado; five grandchildren, Jordan Reed, Austin Reed, Mackenzie Ellison, Brynlee Milburn, Annaliese Reed; sisters, Marcia Kniebes of Michigan, Judi Baxter of Tallahassee, Florida; brothers, Dennis (Lois) Reed of Buchanan, Gary Reed of Baroda; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Brian Reed; grandson, Stefan Reed; and best friend, Mick.
The family will observe a private remembrance.
Kenneth will be laid to rest in Silverbrook Cemetery.
The family prefers contributions in memory of Kenneth be made to the New Troy American Legion, 4789 Weechik Road, New Troy, Michigan 49119.
