Kenneth Ricketts Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Evans Funeral Chapel - Anacortes on Jul. 16, 2024.
Kenneth Ricketts, beloved husband, father, son, brother, nephew, cousin, friend, and patriot, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2024, at the age of 50 at his home in Anacortes, WA, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on August 4, 1973, in Edmonds, WA, he lived a life marked by a deep love for his family, his country, and the freedoms it stands for.
Ken was a passionate historian with a particular interest in military history. He found joy in understanding the past, especially the valor and sacrifices of those who defended our nation. His respect for the Constitution and unwavering support for gun rights were central to his beliefs, reflecting his dedication to the principles upon which our country was founded.
An avid fisherman, Ken cherished the quiet moments by the water, often going on many fishing adventures with his wife, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Ken had a unique talent for making friends easily, no matter where he went. His warm and approachable nature made him beloved both at work and in his personal life. Always ready to lend a hand, he was a pillar of support for his family and friends, embodying the true spirit of generosity and kindness.
Ken graduated from Lynnwood High School in 1991. He worked as a plant/facilities engineer at UPS for 20 years before graduating from North Seattle College with a degree in biomedical technology. He then moved to Crothall Healthcare, where he dedicated the last 8 years of his career. Ken had always wanted to share his knowledge with his boys, passing on things he learned from his grandfathers. He believed in the importance of hard work, a value he attributed to his time working in his parents' shop. His fierce love for his family was matched only by his desire to ensure his life had meaning by passing on wisdom and values to the next generation.
Ken is survived by his devoted wife, Stephanie; his sons Raymond, Nicolas Ricketts, Taylor Guinnip, and Ethan Butcher; his parents: Molly and Michael Smith; his sister Tessa (husband, Mark Turner); and his granddaughter Madeline Guinnip. Many friends and extended family members will also miss him dearly. His legacy of love, strength, and dedication to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A celebration of Ken's life will be held on what would have been his 51st birthday, Sunday, August 4, from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm at Copia on the Boulevard, 1174 S. Burlington Blvd, Burlington, WA 98233.
Rest in peace, Ken. You will be forever missed and never forgotten.
