Ada Reagles Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Evans Funeral Chapel - Anacortes on Mar. 7, 2026.
Ada Virginia "Ginny" Reagles, beloved mother, grandmother, and longtime member of the Orcas Island community, passed away March 6, 2026, in Anacortes, Washington, at the age of 84.

Ginny was born January 21, 1942, in Seattle, Washington, to Ada Lucile Tilman and Eugene Lee Campbell. Her family were pioneers of the Skagit Valley, and she remained proud of her deep Washington roots throughout her life. She maintained close relationships with many cousins across the state, especially her beloved cousin Sonja Throndsen and family, who was like a sister to her.

A graduate of Highline High School, Ginny was an accomplished accordion player in her younger years. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and later the American Legion Auxiliary.

In 1963 she married Jack Calvin Coble in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, they had their beloved son Scott but soon divorced.

On May 25, 1968, she married Vernon Jackson Reagles in Seattle, Washington. They shared 32 years of marriage until Vernon's passing in 2000.

Together Ginny and Vernon raised their family. Ginny's son Scott Campbell Reagles, born in 1964, was later adopted by Vernon after their marriage in 1968. They also welcomed son Jeffrey Vernon Reagles in 1969, daughter Stephanie Lea (Reagles) Tillman in 1970, and daughter Anjeanette Joan Reagles in 1974.

Ginny lived on Orcas Island for 44 years, where she became a familiar and friendly presence in the community. After a career in health care with her husband, she joined Orcas Power & Light Cooperative (OPALCO) in 1995. She worked at the front desk for 18 years, where her warmth and helpful manner made her a well-known voice to members calling the co-op. Over the years she became affectionately known as "The Voice of OPALCO." For many islanders, her voice was one of the first they heard when calling the co-op, long before they ever met her in person, whether to report an outage or ask a question. She retired after nearly two decades of service.

Ginny lived a resilient life. Born with three kidneys, she underwent major surgery at age 17 to remove one and a half of them, a challenge she met with characteristic strength.

Ginny was preceded in death by her parents, Ada Lucile (Tilman) Campbell and Eugene Lee Campbell; her husband, Dr. Vernon Jackson Reagles; and her son Scott Campbell Reagles.

She is survived by her children Jeffrey Vernon Reagles and his wife Jennifer Lynn (Sanders) Reagles; Stephanie Lea (Reagles) Tillman and her husband Thomas Tillman; and Anjeanette Joan Reagles; her daughter-in-law Tracey Lynn (Bailey) Reagles; her grandchildren Zachery Tillman and Sabina Tillman, Tyler Reagles, Anthony Reagles, and Victoria "Tori" Reagles, all of Washington State. She also leaves behind three great-grandchildren, with one more expected soon, along with many extended family members and cousins throughout Washington State.

Ginny will be remembered for her resilience, warmth, and deep devotion to her family and friends. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories for those who knew her, and her presence will be deeply missed.

She will be interred at the family cemetery on Orcas Island, and a small memorial service will be held later in the year. Memorial donations may be made to your local Meals on Wheels program.
