Kenneth Lee Rothschadl, son of Emil and Leantine (Schneider) Rothschadl, was born on February 3, 1936, in Tyndall, South Dakota.
He grew up in Tyndall, where he attended Country School. He spent time helping on the family farm where he learned valuable trades and the true meaning of hard work.
On August 4, 1958, Kenny married Marilyn (Kocmick), daughter of Adolph and Rose Kocmick, at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Tyndall. Together they farmed for over 40 years and raised their eight children. After retiring from farming, they moved into town and Kenny worked at Skorpik’s Implement until his retirement.
Kenny was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. He enjoyed attending the events of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren throughout the years. Kenny and Marilyn attended many dances where they enjoyed dancing to polka music. He liked to watch westerns, Minnesota Twins baseball, do word finds, cruise around on his scooter and a take a drive to view the bean and corn crops. He had a love for reminiscing about the old days on the farm and time spent with Marilyn and his family. Kenny will be remembered as a devoted husband, father grandfather and great-grandfather. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and strength that will live on in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.
He is survived by his children: Teresa (Steve) Vavruska, Dan (Lisa) Rothschadl, Dennis (Sandi) Rothschadl, Patrick (Norma) Rothschadl, Michael (Mari) Rothschadl, Tammy (Jerry) Mesman and Rodney Rothschadl; his cherished grandchildren: Stephanie (Nick), Ryan (Sarah), Lyndsey (Shane), Benjamin (Kaitlin), Kelsey, Brandon, Isabel, Sierra, Paige, Keeley, Rayni and Bryce; his cherished great-grandchildren: Aubrey, Landon, Piper, Porter, Prim, Rocco, Lawson, Emerson and Lane; sisters-in-law, Donna Rothschadl and Jolene Dutcher; brothers-in-law, Leonard Matuska and Norman (Susan) Kocmick and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marilyn; his son, Todd; his parents, Emil and Leantine Rothschadl; parents-in-law, Adolph and Rose Kocmick; sister, Arlene Kronaizl; brothers, James and John; brother-in-law, Thomas Kronaizl; sisters-in-law, Mae Rothschadl and Betty Matuska and niece, Tiffany Dutcher.
