On Saturday morning, August 23, 2025, Kenneth "Todd" Ryan and his wife Sheryl Lynn Ryan of Wichita Falls, Texas, lost their lives in a tragic car accident while traveling to his mother's 80th birthday party and family gathering in Oklahoma. They were always inseparable in this life and God saw fit to take them home together.
Todd was born on June 12, 1965, to Kenneth Lee and Stephanie Ann Ryan. He was an identical twin and liked to tell everyone that he was the "oldest". He was raised and lived most of his life in and around the Wichita Falls, Tx area. Todd and his twin brother, Kelly, were fearless and kept their parents busy keeping up with their many shenanigans that only twins can conspire to create. He and his twin loved the outdoors, hunting, exploring and watching sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys. Todd loved to engage anyone who would listen to a long debate about politics and was very knowledgeable about current events. Todd never stopped grieving the loss of his twin, who passed before him in 2018.
Todd worked many jobs in his lifetime including oilfield work, outdoor fencing and pest control. He was a "Jack of all trades, Master of none" and the best description of Todd would be "survivor". He struggled greatly with losing his eyesight to a disease called Retinitis Pigmentosa that he shared with his twin and his oldest sister Rhonda and next to youngest sister, Beth. This disease gradually began robbing him of his vision in his late 20's and had eventually left him almost fully blind at the time of his death. It was difficult for him to be reliant upon others as he had always been the "one in charge". He turned his attention to God through his dark times and texted bible verses and words of encouragement to people he loved. It was a side of him that very few ever saw but was genuinely the best version of himself. His biggest accomplishment, by far, were his two sons that he helped bring into this world. He bragged endlessly about how proud he was of them. They were both very special to him and he often spoke of how lucky he was that God blessed him with his sons. Todd no longer has to fumble in the dark, feel despair, sadness, depression and grief. He is now surrounded by goodness and light and the healing power of his Heavenly Father.
Todd was preceded in death by his wife, Sheryl Lynn Ryan, his biological father, Kenneth Lee Ryan, his twin brother Kelly Burton Ryan, his big sister Rhonda Annette Ryan-Fulkerson and his stepfather, Benny Harlan Huggins, whom he loved dearly and affectionately called Dad. He leaves behind his two precious sons, Breck Ryan and wife Aubrie of Coppell, Tx and Chandler Ryan of Graham, Tx. His mother Stephanie Ann Huggins of Mustang. Sisters, Audra O'Hern (Thomas) of Mustang, Beth Meador (Mike) of Eufaula and Kristen Spangler (Chris) of St. Antonio, Tx. He had many nieces and nephews, asked about them often and loved them unconditionally. May the good Lord wrap both Todd and Sheryl in His loving embrace. Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Graveside services will be held for family at a later date.
