Kenneth Ray Scrivner, known affectionately as Ken to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Hillcrest Hospital South in Tulsa, OK, at the age of 87. He was born on February 28, 1938, in Oklahoma City, OK to Basil Byron and Pearl (Evans) Scrivner. Ken's life was marked by his dedication to his family, his passion for his work, and his unwavering faith.

Ken attended Shawnee Schools and later graduated from Southwestern Bible College in 1956. His love for storytelling and communication led him to Tulsa University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism. It was there that he honed the skills that would define his professional life.

Ken's career was as varied as it was successful. He began as a writer for the Oil & Gas Journal, where he made a significant impact with his insightful reporting. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to become one of the partners of BMC Advertising and later to establish The Power Company. Even after retiring, Ken continued to lend his expertise to marketing and political campaigns, never losing his zest for influencing and shaping the world around him.

His work with Feed the Children and involvement with Walk For Mankind showcased Ken's philanthropic spirit and his desire to make a difference. He was also an active member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, where he furthered his commitment to community service.

Ken's interests were as rich and diverse as his career. He was a talented photographer, an avid fly fisherman, and a devout churchgoer. His membership at the Church on the Move in Broken Arrow was a testament to his deep faith and his love for his community.

On June 1, 1957, Ken married Flossie Jean Montgomery, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Their union was blessed with children and grandchildren who became the center of Ken's world.

Ken is survived by his loving wife, Jean Scrivner, of their home in Broken Arrow, OK; his children, Kevin Scrivner and wife Bonita of Tulsa, OK, April Scharpf of Broken Arrow, OK, Joel Scrivner and wife Jennifer of McKinney, TX, and Sommer Collier and husband Dan of Salem, SC. He was a proud grandfather to Devon, Hailey, Kayla, Elijah, Lilly, Rosie, Sydney, Blakely, Ava, and Carson, and a great-grandfather to Gabriel, Malachi, Elora, and Sylas. His legacy will live on through them and the numerous other relatives who will miss him dearly.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Basil Byron and Pearl Scrivner, his granddaughter, O'Neal Scrivner, and his sister, Rosemary Scrivner.

A memorial service celebrating Ken's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Church on the Move in Broken Arrow, OK.
