Kenneth L. Shaffer, 54 of Mount Pleasant ( Bullskin Twp.) died on Saturday January 13, 2024 in Independence Health Frick Hospital. He was born on October 2, 1969 in Mount Pleasant a son of Marlene Wiltrout Shaffer of Mount Pleasant and the late Bill Shaffer. Ken was a graduate of Connellsville High School and attended the Vo-Tech School, where he played on the Football and Basketball Teams as well as the Track and Field Team. He was employed as an
Arborist having owned his own Tree Company. He was a member of the Connellsville Weight Club and member of the Mt. Salem Church where he was a Sunday School Teacher, Lay Leader, Piano Player and he helped maintain the church property by mowing the grass. Ken was exceptional in everything that he did. In addition to his mother Marlene, he is survived by his lifelong companion, Christina Landy; his son, Kenny Landy of Mount Pleasant; his brother, Bill Shaffer and his wife Kelly of Hunker and their children, Cara Shaffer and Brian Shaffer and his wife Katelyn and their children, Briella and Beckham. He is also survived by his pet Chihuahua, Wendy Sue and his pet cat, Smores. In addition to his father Bill, he was predeceased by his Maternal Grandparents, Jess and Olive Wiltrout and his Paternal Grandmother, Hulda Newill. Family and friends will be received from 2-4,6-8 P.M. Wednesday in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME,INC., 406 E. Washington St., Mount Pleasant. Additional viewing will take place in the Mt. Salem Church on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M., the hour of services with Rev. Leona Logan officiating. Interment will follow in the Brown Cemetery.
