REV. KENNETH J. SHOEMAKER HILDEBRAN - Rev. Kenneth James Shoemaker, 58, of Hildebran went to be with his Lord on March 30, 2013, on Easter weekend. Born on January 20, 1955 in Iredell County, he was the son of Mary Parker Ireland and the late James Shoemaker. Kenneth was a Godly and loving son, husband, father, step-father, grandfather, brother, and loyal friend to all who knew him. He was a 1996 graduate of Rhema Bible College in Broken Arrow, OK. Kenneth received his Doctorate of Divinity from Victory Bible Institution. He was a member and Lay Minister of Fresh Oil Ministries. Kenneth served in the US Army and was Honorably Discharged. He was self employed, he owned and operated Ken's Painting. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Hessie and Clyde Parker and Essie and Baldie Shoemaker. Survivors include his wife Ninik Shoemaker, mother and step-father, Mary and Bob Ireland of Catawba; children, Chris Shoemaker of Catawba, Tennille Light and husband David of Claremont; step-children, Marty James of Morganton, Kimberly Huffman of Hickory; sister, Diane Kiziah and husband Ron of Claremont; grandchildren, Meah Hunsucker, Carly Shoemaker, Regan Shoemaker, Morgan Light, Caden Shoemaker; niece, Tabitha Kiziah, and nephew, Josh Kiziah. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 11 AM at Fresh Oil Ministries with the Pastors Tammy and David Pettry officiating. Burial will follow at Brookford Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 from 6-8 PM at Fresh Oil Ministries. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Fresh Oil Ministries, Building Fund, PO Box 2696, Hickory, NC 28603. On-line condolences may be left at www.catawbamemorialpark.com. Catawba Memorial Park, Funerals & Cremations is providing professional services to the Shoemaker Family.
