Kenneth Eugene Sivils, 87 of Springfield, MO passed away peacefully in his home on August 14, 2024, after a valiant fight with Kidney Disease.
Kenneth was born on June 4th, 1937 to Jack Burton Sivils and Nadine (Swickhamer) Sivils in Rich Hill Missouri. Kenneth graduated from Hume High School in 1955 and enlisted in the US Army serving his country honorably as an Army Security Agency radio operator, stationed in Taiwan. Kenneth met his beloved wife Rosalind Lee (Griffin) on a blind date, they married on March 21, 1959. He was a devoted husband to Rosalind and a loving father to Gary Wayne (1960), Kent Alan (1961), and Teresa Jeanne (1966).
Kenneth Started his career with Nabisco which brought him from Kansas City to Springfield, he then moved on as a Salesman for Micrographic Services until he retired.
Kenneth was hard-working and dedicated and he enjoyed playing golf, attending the horse races in Arkansas, and playing cards with his buddies.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents Jack "Bud "and Nadine Sivils, Brother Don, and Sister Mary.
He is survived by his wife Rosalind, Sons Gary Sivils and Kent Sivils, daughter Teresa Sivils-Dickey (Jason) Grandchildren Dalton Sivils (Sara), Seth Sivils, Ryan Dickey (Megan), Kayla Sivils, Cory Sivils, Reagan Dickey, and Jensen Sivils. Great grandchildren Parker Sue and Everette Wayne, two Sisters, Joyce Boyles and Melba Clark of Kansas City, Brothers-in-law, Sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Kenneth had a charming and witty personality who had a huge heart for his family and always wanted to make sure they were well provided and cared for. Unbeknownst to us Kenneth quietly made multiple donations to organizations to help the hungry.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Burial with full Military Honors will be Friday, August 23 at 2:00 PM in Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
Donations can be made in his honor to Ozarks Food Harvest, a cause close to his heart.
