Randall Randy Ebrite

Randall "Randy" Duane Ebrite reunited with his soulmate and bride Carol, his parents Rex and Nadine (née Morrison), and too many dear brothers-in-arms on March 16, 2026.

Randy fit several lives into a single lifetime filled with music, art, community, family, dogs, and the joy of the natural world. After valiantly serving his country during the Vietnam War as a Navy corpsman, Randy trained as a physician assistant for the federal prison system and spent time in Maine, Minnesota, and Chicago.

Randy returned to Springfield in the early 80s, met and married Carol and, with his cousin, partner, and bandmate Michael Cochran, helped begin the Commercial Street renaissance by opening the world-renowned vintage Mecca, Nellie Dunn's.
Always up for a challenge/adventure, Randy attended the police academy and spent his 60s as a deputy for the Christian County Sheriff.

Randy is desperately missed by his son Eric, daughter-in-law Talitha, grandchildren Blake and June, sister and brother-in-law Cindy and Lane Griot, aunt Carol Ann Morrison, cousin Michael Cochran, darling pup Betty, and many beloved family members and friends.

Randy wished not to have a public funeral, but his family is planning a music party this summer to celebrate the extraordinary lives of Randy and Carol.
