Kenneth James Snyder Sr., 60,  known affectionately as "Ken," passed away unexpectedly at his home in Temple, TX, on Thursday, May 9, 2024. He was born on October 25, 1963, in Moses Lake, Washington to Candace (Leggett) Snyder and George Keith Snyder. 


 His dedication to his work was evident to all who knew him. He graduated from Leto High School in the class of 1981 and continued his education at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, Florida Beyond his professional achievements, Ken led a fulfilling life as a lab supervisor for Quest Diagnostics for over 24 years. Ken's true joy came from his family. He married the love of his life from high school, Aprile Diana (Rau) Snyder, and they shared 40 beautiful years together. Their bond was a source of strength and happiness for the entire family.


Ken is survived by his father, George Keith Snyder with his wife Kathy Snyder;  three sons: Kenneth Jr., George, and Benjamin, wife Victoria; as well as his daughter Charity and her husband Brian. His love and guidance extended to his grandchildren Jessica Reidenbach, Ben Jr., and Elliot Snyder; and his two dogs, Haans and Angel. In addition to his immediate family, Ken is survived by his mother-in-law, Diana McCoy and partner Eli Reedy; two sisters; Cheryl Heider with her husband Chris and Debbie Pelaez with her husband Mario. He cherished their time together and created countless memories filled with laughter and love.


He is preceded in death by his mother, Candace (Leggett) Snyder. 


Ken's passions went beyond the workplace and home. He enjoyed collecting ball caps, tinkering in his workshop, and working on cars and classics.They enjoyed camping and watching NASCAR. Listening to Country and Christian music.  His appreciation for the simple things in life resonated with all who knew him.


A man of faith, Ken attended Bethel Assembly of God Church where he found solace and community. His joyful and loving nature shone through in everything he did. Those close to him remember him for always putting his family first, sharing smiles, jokes, and hugs generously.


His proudest accomplishments revolved around his family; he took every opportunity to brag about them and teach them about God. His legacy lives on through the values he instilled in each one of them. He obtained a six sigma green belt in his profession. His favorite hobby was barbecuing;steak, ribs, hamburgers, and making his famous homemade "Grandpa Mustard".    


In remembrance of Ken's life, visitation will be held (before the celebration of life) service at Young's Daughters Funeral Home & Bereavement Center in Temple, TX on Wednesday, May 15th from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM followed by a Celebration of Life at the same location from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The burial will take place at Greathouse Cemetery in Temple at 11:00 AM.


Ken will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him - from family and friends to his loyal dogs Haans and Angel. May his memory live on in the hearts of those who were touched by his kindness and love.
