Kenneth Harold Tallent, 80 of Sylva, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. Kenneth was born on July 8, 1942, to the late Claude and Nancy Wilson Tallent.
Kenneth served in the US Army and National Guard. He loved drinking coffee and watching the News or NASCAR. Kenneth enjoyed camping, hunting, going on picnics, and traveling to the beach with his family.
Kenneth is survived by his sons, Randy Dale Tallent (Debbie), Wayne Woodson Tallent (Tanya), Bobby Earl Burnley; grandchildren, Krystal Ness (Nathan), Brittany Killian (Aaron), Bobby Lee Burnley, Ethan Grasty, and Eli Grasty (Ashton); six great grandchildren; sisters, Sandra Ridley and Kay Franks; special niece, Tammy Pannell. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Ellen Tallent; sisters, Catherine Pannell and Linda Mull; granddaughter, Stephanie Lane Burnley.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services. Rev. JD Grant and Rev. Eddie Stillwell will be officiating. Burial will follow at Cullowhee Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 12:00-1:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
