KENNETH WIGHT TEAGUE – LOVING FATHER, GRANDFATHER AND FRIEND Kenneth Wight Teague loved his family, supported education and children's charities, was a lifelong University of Michigan fan and accomplished much in his career in the automotive industry. He was an incredibly intelligent man who devised many great solutions, both in his work and every day life. Ken upheld himself to a strict standard of ethics in matters big and small. He was proud to support his family and particularly the education of his four daughters. He had a playful sense of humor, and delighted in Christmas celebrations especially. A lifelong dog owner, he had a soft spot for his pets over the years. Ken died peacefully on June 22, 2012. Ken Teague was born on November 1, 1949 in Grosse Pointe to David and Elizabeth Teague. He graduated from Grosse Pointe South High School and went on to the School of Engineering at the University of Michigan, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. After college, he served for two years in the Air Force National Guard. He was married to Susan Marie Jackson, also of Grosse Pointe, MI, for 26 years. Though they divorced, they continued to support each other and their four daughters. Ken worked for Chrysler Corporation for nearly all of his career, starting as an engineer and moving into management. He held positions in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio over the years, and accumulated many great stories of his career, including meetings with Lee Iacocca. He held a wide range of patents thanks to his engineering innovations. He especially enjoyed his active role in recruiting and mentoring new hires from the University of Michigan. Ken talked proudly and often of his family. He was father to Christine Neujahr (Elias), Elizabeth Teague, Carolyn Marsh (Kirtland), and Sara Teague. He was the cherished grandfather of 2-year-old Eli Neujahr and newborn Nora Marsh. He was the brother of Kay Ensfield (Robert) and Nancy Teague. Ken supported a number of charitable causes over the years. He was active in the Kensington Church community, and a member of the automotive charity group Full Throttle. He was also an active contributor to several children's charities, including the Children's Leukemia Foundation of Michigan and Special Olympics events in Michigan. Ken had a lifelong passion for cars and music, enjoyed playing golf, and had a love of baseball since childhood. He was a dedicated Detroit Tigers fan and attending Tigers games was a favorite pastime. Family will receive friends at A.J. Desmond and Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Rd., Troy (between Maple and Big Beaver) Sunday, June 24, 2012 from 4-7 PM, and Monday, June 25, 2012 from 1-2 PM. A funeral service will follow at 2 PM. Ken will be buried at Oxford Township Cemetery, next to his beloved grandparents and uncle.
