Kenny Thomas, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Memorial Health Meadows in Vidalia. He was born on March 27, 1948 in Jesup and had lived in Collins most of his life. Kenny served in the US Army and Marines. He was a nurse that had worked at Toombs Nursing Home, Tattnall Healthcare and Appling Healthcare. Kenny enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and playing softball and basketball. He was of the Baptist faith and is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Zell Dean Thomas and Geneva Clark; his siblings, Jimmy Thomas, Glenda Partin, Ricky Thomas, Judson Clark and Aubrey Clark, a niece, Gina Thomas; brother in laws, Earl Partin and Louie Reynolds.
He is survived by his children, Jamie (Michelle) Thomas of Vidalia, DeAndra (Cody) Guthrie of Collins and Brittany (Timothy) Brooks of Collins; siblings, Milissa Wolfe of Jesup, Michael (Beth) Thomas of Jesup, Patricia Edge of Mount Vernon, Brenda Reynolds of Mount Vernon, Connie (Russell) Cardell of Glenwood, and Harold (Sandy) Thomas of Texas; grandchildren, Jacey Thomas, Zoey (Frankie) Toole, Railee Thomas, Bentlee Phillips, Teegan Brooks, Braelyn Thomas, Kohen Brooks, and Jensen Brooks; great grandson, Ridge Toole; several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Betty Sykes.
The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00pm on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am on Friday, May 10, 2024 from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial with Reverend Michael Godbee officiating. Interment will follow in the Little Flock Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tim Oglesby, Andy Coursey, Gavyn Singleton, Lee Bacon, Ulysses Millett, and Gibson Wood
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Oxley Park Health and Rehabilitation, Faith, Dani, Dory, Kylie, Shellie, Kim, Annette, Nancy, Stephanie, Star, CJ, Tara and Lindsey for the love and care that they gave Kenny.
