Kenneth Dwight Timson, Sr son of Floyd Dwight Timson and Cecelia Lavonne Timson was born in Hastings, NE on January 3, 1945 and passed away on April 15, 2025 in Mebane, NC at the age of 80. Ken grew up in Iowa and graduated from Malvern High School in May 1963. He was united in marriage to Donna Kay Akeyson on August 15, 1964 in Omaha, NE. The couple later moved to Henderson, Iowa.
To this union were born six children, Tammy, Kenneth, Jr., Ronald, Donald and Leonard and Joseph. Kenneth worked many different jobs until getting on with Eaton Transmission Corporation in Shenandoah Iowa in 1972 and continued until 1988 when he transferred to the Kings Mountain, NC plant as lead engineer. He retired in 2000 and tried to enjoy word working and yard work but couldn’t stay busy enough and joined the AW/NC team in 2003 until 2019 when he officially retired.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and sister Norma. Surviving him and cherishing his memory are his loving wife Donna of Mebane, NC, daughter Tammy Hajek of Havana, Illinois, son Kenneth Timson, Jr. of Mebane, NC, Ronald Timson & wife Dawn of Gastonia, NC, Donald Timson of Grover, NC, Leonard Timson & wife Rebecca of Kings Mountain, NC and Joseph Timson & wife Tiffany of Grover, NC, twelve grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one sister Lois McMullen & husband Leonard of rural Iowa.
Celebration of life was held on April 19th at the home in Mebane, NC. Food was supplied by Food Lion of Mebane NC. Walker Funeral home held visitation services on Friday the 18th of April and handled the cremation of Kenneth for the family. Thank you also to Mebane Police Dept for all their help at Food Lion on the day Kenneth went to his heavenly home.
Kenneth in life was always available to lend a helping hand no matter time of day or night and most when asked will tell you they loved his smile and laughter. He will me greatly missed by all who knew him.
