Kenneth Paul Tysiac of Greece, N.Y., died Nov. 11, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. He was 77. Born on Jan. 16, 1948 in Buffalo, N.Y., Ken grew up on Medina Street in a working class neighborhood in the Buffalo suburb of Cheektowaga. He graduated from John F. Kennedy High School, where he was a starting forward on the varsity basketball team, in 1965. After earning an associate's degree from Erie County Technical Institute in 1967, Ken moved to Rochester to work for Eastman Kodak and attend night school at Rochester Institute of Technology to earn his bachelor’s degree. Ken worked for Kodak for more than 30 years and finished his career working several years for Johnson & Johnson before retiring. He married his high school sweetheart, Sally Jean Pater, on April 20, 1968. A loving husband and father, he seldom missed one of his children's sporting events, dance recitals or activities — and with his distinct baritone voice shouting support, you always knew he was there. He served as a PTA member and president of the Greece Arcadia Athletic Association sports booster club while his children were in high school. ` An avid fan of Notre Dame, the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres, Ken’s loud cheers for his favorite teams could be heard throughout the neighborhood on Crosby Lane when the windows were open on a warm summer day. He loved to sing along when listening to Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones, and he delighted in trips to London, Hawaii, Nashville, the Kentucky Derby and Lake Placid with Sally. Ken also doted on his grandchildren, and as a devoted member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, he joined Sally in volunteering for the church’s yearly Ladies Fashion Show and delivering food for the Greece Ecumenical Food Shelf. Although dementia robbed him of his independence in his later years, his face lit up with a smile whenever he received visitors, even until his final days.

Ken is predeceased by parents Bernard and Helen Tysiac. He is survived by wife Sally, sister Pamela Sprague, children Kenneth Tysiac Jr., David (Kristin) Tysiac, and Rebecca Krzywda; and grandchildren Ashley Tysiac, Kenneth Tysiac III, Matthew Krzywda, Renee Tysiac and Josephine Krzywda. Calling hours will be 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21 at Farrell-Ryan Funeral & Cremation Services, 777 Long Pond Road in Greece, N.Y. Ken’s funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
