Kenneth Vesperman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hallowell & James Funeral Home - Countryside on Feb. 15, 2025.
Kenneth "Ken" Vesperman, age 78, passed away peacefully on February 14th, 2025. Beloved husband of Robin (nee Seelenbinder); loving father of Heather (Craig) Peterson and Michael (Maia McCann) Vesperman; cherished grandfather of Thomas, Matthew, Ryan, and Owen Peterson and Ryder Vesperman; brother of Carol (Joseph) Truncali; devoted cousin of Linda (Ed) Barry; fond uncle and friend of many.
Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Ken attended Lakeview High School where he played football. He then met and fell in love with his wife, Robin, in 1964 at Wilbur Wright College. Ken worked as an elevator mechanic for Otis Elevator from 1972 and was a member of the IUEC Local 2 until he retired in 2007. After retirement, Ken worked for La Grange Public Library as the facilities manager and found joy in giving back to his community. Ken loved entertaining his friends and family, going on walks, and, most of all, traveling and dancing with his wife of 57 years, Robin. While Ken was a lifelong Chicago sports fan, his greatest joy was watching his children and grandchildren's sporting events.
Visitation is from 4 to 9pm on Thursday, February 20th at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Family and friends to meet directly at First Congregational Church of LaGrange, 100 6th Ave., LaGrange on Friday, February 21st at 10am. Interment will take place privately.

We remember Ken always quick with a smile and friendly greeting, very proud of Heather and Michael and enjoying the life he and Robin built together. Ken will be missed but remembered fondly.
